Erin and Gregory met at the Princeton in Avalon in August 2013. Erin was there for a work event, and Greg tagged along with a co-worker of Erin's to the event. After being introduced by Erin's co-worker, the two ended up talking most of the night in a conversation that came natural to the both of them.
After that night, Greg sent Erin a friend request on Facebook, which she accepted. He proceeded to send her a message asking if she would "fancy a drink sometime." Erin agreed, leading to the couple's first date - dinner in Cape May. Afterward, Greg showed Erin around town. They then continued their evening together fishing well into the night. Erin caught her first fish, adding to the already memorable night.
A little over a year later on Christmas Day 2014, Greg handed Erin a small gold box and told her it was her "gag gift," as Erin had just given him one. She didn't suspect a thing, so she casually opened the box and found a note. The note asked if Erin would "fancy marrying" Greg. Erin said yes while tackling Greg to the ground, both of their parents there to witness the special moment.
Erin and Greg began the wedding planning process in March 2015, leaving plenty of time to plan. "It's one of the best things we could've done for ourselves," Erin shares. They specifically wanted to get married in Cape May County, agreeing that this is their home. Although Erin is not originally from this area, Greg grew up here and Erin works here. And of course, it is where the two met. Additionally, many of Greg and Erin's family and friends live in Cape May County or nearby, so they knew it would be a convenient location for their wedding guests.
The couple chose the Wildwood Golf & Country Club for the ceremony and reception, and had a positive experience working with the club to get ready for the big day. Additionally, Erin's job gave her the opportunity to become familiar with other local, affordable vendors, so she and Greg were easily able to plan their dream wedding.
Erin and Greg's wedding theme was nautical and fishing with navy, turquoise and white colors. Erin tried to incorporate some DIY items into the day, such as a DIY photo booth made with a table full of props and selfie sticks, plus a fishnet backdrop hung on the wall.
"Our wedding day was everything I could've ever imagined and more," says Erin. The day started out windy and rainy, which was concerning considering the ceremony was outdoors. But about an hour before the ceremony was set to begin, the sun came out and everything fell into place. Erin and Greg said their "I Dos" on Wildwood Golf & Country Club's lawn in front of their family and friends, Erin dressed in a lace Maggie Sottero gown from Wedding Belles Boutique. They then had a lovely celebration inside with delicious food and sweets, consisting of cupcakes with a top tier wedding cake from Chocolate Face Cupcakes & Brownies. Erin and Greg danced one of the best nights of their lives away into their happily ever after.
