Laura and Bob first met in Northeast Philadelphia, where they both worked at the same bank. Once they got to talking, they realized they knew a lot of the same people and places in the area. They instantly felt a connection to one another and it wasn’t long before they became close friends. The two enjoyed spending time together, and in 2010 their friendship developed into something more. Laura and Bob have been a happy couple ever since, and they purchased their first house together in March 2013.
In September 2014, Bob got down on one knee at Penn’s Landing on the Philadelphia waterfront and asked Laura to marry him with all of their friends there to capture the moment. Laura said yes! They are both big Philadelphia Eagles fans, and since their engagement was right at the start of the season, they decided to have their engagement photos taken at Lincoln Financial Field.
Laura and Bob both love the Jersey Shore and have vacationed there throughout the years with their families, so they knew right away that that’s where they wanted to get married. The couple chose to get married at The Grand Hotel of Cape May. As soon as they saw The Grand offered a beautiful beachfront with endless ocean views, they knew that it was their place. The Grand had two wedding planners on staff that helped Laura and Bob make many decisions.
Laura and Bob were married on August 29, 2015 on The Grand’s Sundeck by Reverend Robert Steenrod of Cape May, then celebrated with family and friends in the Penthouse Ballroom to mark the beginning of their new life together as husband and wife.
As Laura recalls, it was a perfect day with so many great moments to remember. Her most memorable moment of her special day was the morning of the wedding, when she received a delivery of chocolate covered strawberries and red roses along with a beautiful heartfelt note from her soon-to-be husband. This made Laura even more excited for the day ahead of her. Laura says, “I couldn’t wait to see Bob during our “first look” on the Cape May beach!”
