Lauren and Zackary first met in high school at Lower Cape May Regional High School. They began dating when Lauren was a senior, and continued to date while she went off to college at Rowan University and Zack stayed home to work. After Lauren graduated, they decided to take the next step and purchase their first home together.
In February 2016, Zack attended the New Jersey Department of Corrections Police Academy in Seagirt, N.J. Four months later in June, Lauren threw him a graduation party at her parents’ home, which is where Zack decided to pop the question. In front of about 100 family members and friends, Zack got down on one knee and asked for Lauren’s hand in marriage. Of course, she said yes! The beautiful engagement ring Zack presented her with was everything she could have imagined, complete with a center diamond that belonged to her grandmother.
The planning was easy for Lauren and Zack, and a Cape May County wedding only made sense since they both grew up here. Lauren has attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church since she was a child, so the ceremony location was a simple choice. For the reception, the couple chose South Jersey Marina for its beautiful location and scenery, with catering by Saltwater Café and liquor provided by Joe Canal’s. “It was everything we were looking for!” says Lauren.
When it came time to shop for attire, Lauren purchased her dress out of the county. However, Zack stayed local and headed to That Tuxedo Place for his tux. “They were awesome to work with, and I even got my rental for free since all of my groomsmen rented tuxes from there!” Zack shares.
Lauren and Zack held their rehearsal dinner at Avalon Links Restaurant the night before the big day, with great food and phenomenal service calming their pre-wedding jitters.
The wedding day was perfect, with the laid back vibe both the bride and groom wanted. Great American Trolley Company picked up both the groomsmen and bridesmaids (separately, of course!) and brought them to the church so Lauren and Zack could officially tie the knot. Then, the bridal party hopped back onto the trolley and headed to South Jersey Marina to celebrate.
