Liz and Scott met at a party in Wildwood at ages 20 and 18. They didn't necessarily "hit it off" right away due to other priorities at the time – Liz had just started nursing school, and Scott was attending school to become a diver. Throughout the next couple years, Liz and Scott kept in contact and often ran into each other around the county, but it never seemed to be the right timing between their busy lives.
Finally, on New Year's Eve 2013, Liz and Scott crossed paths yet again and the timing was just right. That year, they spent most of their time together, as Liz was finishing up college. In just a few short months, Liz and Scott knew it was right between them. They decided to move to North Carolina and create a new life together down south.
On a trip back home to Cape May County in August 2015, Scott proposed to Liz at Willow Creek Winery. As the couple celebrated their engagement over their weekend visit, it only seemed right to get married "at home" in Cape May County. Scott grew up in Cape May County, but Liz didn't move to the area until she was 14 years old. Although it wasn't Liz's initial home, she was welcomed into the Wildwood community with open arms, establishing a new home for her. Cape May County is also where Liz and Scott’s love story began.
As the newly engaged couple traveled back to North Carolina, the overwhelming feeling of planning a wedding in a location so far away was horrifying to Liz. But with the assistance of a wedding planner, Liz's mother and her bridal party, she was able to plan her dream wedding - a Christmas wedding at the beach!
Liz wanted a snowy, cold, Christmas wedding, so she and Scott settled on the date of December 17, 2016 and began to plan. They chose the Bolero Resort as their venue, and were excited to give everyone a feel of the place where their relationship blossomed.
On the big day, Liz and Scott decided to do some "first look" photos. Liz notes that her beautiful flowers from Petals Floral Design fit her color scheme perfectly and really stood out in photos, especially against her gorgeous Allure Bridals gown from Tesi Bridal & Formal. After taking photos, they headed to the ceremony. Post reception, the wedding party stopped at the Wildwoods sign to get some nice sunset shots. The Grinch and Santa happened to be hanging around and joined the photo shoot! They then headed to the Bolero for cocktail hour and the reception. Everyone danced the night away and celebrated the new Mr. and Mrs., completing the perfect Christmas wedding at the shore.
