How they met: Peter and Patsy met 13 years ago by means of the personal ads in the newspaper. The two had their first date getting coffee at a diner on a Friday night. “We are very lucky,” explains the couple.
How he proposed: In October 2013 Peter first popped the question to Patsy in casual conversation. The two always discussed that things would be easier if they were married but never seriously thought of tying the knot. Patsy thought Peter was joking at first and it was not until a few weeks later that she answered him seriously.
The planning: The couple talked about wanting a beach wedding, but with such a big year of celebrations ahead, they decided to have a whole weekend of fun including a wedding and 70th birthday celebration for Peter. The family rented six houses for four days to host everyone, and the Ferry Terminal offered an intimate setting for a wedding reception of 60 people. Both Peter and Patsy had a part in the planning. Patsy says, “We are a team and that has never changed.”
The wedding: Patsy and Peter exchanged their vows on October 4.
Patsy and Peter’s favorite moment: Having the two families come together and take part in the wedding was the couple’s favorite moment. Their wedding was all about family with everyone having a part; the grandchildren even walked down the aisle! According to Patsy and Peter, “It’s good to get family together.”
