When Hayley Sacchetti first saw Guy Loggi at a friend’s house in 2016, she knew she wanted to know this man.
“I turned to my friend and said ‘Who is that?!’ when I saw Guy,” she recalled. Her friend called him over and they were “pretty muchtogether all night.”
Over the next nine years, they experienced life’s ups and downs with a breakup or two, but also realized they were meant to be together. They saved money first, bought a house together, shared a dog together and eventually decided to get married.
Hayley’s hometown is Galloway, and Guy grew up in Somers Point, where the couple lives together now and are expecting their first child.
Hayley also lived in Ocean City for about 5 years in a rental apartment, and used to work at a very popular local bar just outside of Ocean City.
Since they both love Ocean City so much, it made sense to be married there.
“We were looking for a venue that had indoor and outdoor space, as well as a large dance floor,” Hayley recalled. “Ocean City Yacht Club (OCYC) has the best view of the bay and the option to get married outside on the dock, which we did.”
“We also rented the optional tent, which was set up for cocktail hour, the bar and just extra space for people to gather and hang out. Even with 160 guests, the dance floor was huge and so much fun,” she noted.
Hayley said the OCYC supplied the table clothes, tables, chairs, silverware, cake knife, champagne flutes, etc.
“I can’t imagine having to buy or rent everything separately on my own, like an “empty shell” venue,” she said. “That’s just not my vibe. They even supplied my Day of Coordinator. I barely had to do a thing!”
Hayley said the view and the food were both “so spectacular. I didn’t feel like I needed to overdecorate or try too hard with anything, because the venue itself is just so great on its own. Bill (McGinnity, of Nobil Food Services) is the chef as well as the point of reference to talk to for everything, and he just made the whole process so easy and fun for us.”
“We are one of the few venues in South Jersey that are directly on the Bay and provide exquisite sunsets,” McGinnity said. “We only do one event a day so brides have an amazing room upstairs to get hair, makeup and dressed right here at the club.”
In fact, Hayley also had fun doing her own floral arrangements and bouquets.
“I bought a variety of flowers from Produce Junction for all of the bouquets and some vases/ decor around the venue,” she said. “For the center pieces and boutonnieres, I ordered a bunch of baby’s breath from Sam’s Club. Using one flower type made everything so much easier for the centerpieces, and they came out really elegant.
“I also ordered some dried Eucalyptus leaves from Etsy and sprinkled them around,” sheadded. “I am so happy that I did my own flowers, for a fraction of the price of a florist.”
