Avalon Golf Club, a quick drive to the beaches in Sea Isle City, Avalon, and Stone Harbor, is one of the finest golf courses in Cape May County. Glimmering greens, accommodating staff, and a spacious clubhouse make it an inviting off-island venue at the shore.
Cory and Leatrice Damiana were wed here on July 15, 2023. Leatrice told Weddings by the Beach that the club’s beautiful landscape and all-inclusive packages made the club an easy choice for their big day. Their planner, Dawn Sachs, was so helpful that the couple didn’t have to sweat the finer points.
“She nailed every detail and responded so quickly to emails and phone calls,” Leatrice said.
The club offers four different event spaces that cater to different wedding sizes and styles. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, Avalon Golf Club can accommodate a range of preferences.
Cory and Leatrice, busy as they are, wanted to plan much of the day themselves. The club’s attentive service helped bring their vision to life. For folks who want to take a mostly hands-off approach, only giving feedback on details like food choices, music, flowers, and colors, the venue offers all-inclusive packages at different price points. A full wedding package at Avalon Golf Club takes care of everything: greeting guests as they arrive, serving food and drink, coordinating with a florist, DJ, or live band.
The venue helped Cory and Leatrice create gorgeous table settings. Dinner was catered by the Avalon Golf Club’s Links Restaurant, which attracts locals year-round and has four distinct dining areas, each with a different vibe. Leatrice called the food they picked “exceptional.” Guests loved the fresh-made fudge from Laura’s Fudge, a famous candy shop in Wildwood. The dressing rooms – separate for the bride and groom – allowed the couple and their wedding party to get ready on-site.

Cory and Leatrice’s love began with a cheeky re-introduction by Cory’s sister-in-law, who hoped the two would hit it off. Cory and Leatrice are locals; they went to high school in the area and met initially as younger kids. A year after they were re-introduced, Cory proposed on a nearby beach.
Cory and Leatrice held their traditional Catholic Mass ceremony at The Church of the Assumption in Wildwood Crest, which they faithfully attended every Sunday. Before the wedding, Leatrice’s Maid of Honor, Maria, hosted a heartwarming bridal shower at her family’s cozy home in nearby Erma, adding a touch of intimacy to the festivities.
