Tiffany & Doug

Madison Resort - Wildwood Crest

October 18, 2024

adison Resort Wildwood Crest keeps the beating heart of Doo-Wop alive and is the perfect place to get married right on the oceanfront. It overlooks a massive green park on one side and glistening sand on the other; between the park, the beach, the resort’s interior spaces, large pools, and hot tubs, it’s the perfect spot for beach volleyball and stress-free fun with your wedding party.

Madison Resort Wildwood Crest is one of the newest resorts on the island and was ranked “Best New Hotel” in America by USA Today and 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards. But what sets it apart from all the others? We asked Tiffany Flitcroft, who grew up in Wildwood Crest and chose to marry her husband Doug at this special place.
Tiffany met Doug at a high school talent show and wanted to keep her celebration local. She said that Madison Wildwood Crest has the best blend of amenities, beach access, and atmosphere of anywhere in town.

“It’s a little different than your normal wedding spot. It’s new and exciting; we had the option to get married poolside instead of beachside, so we got to see the beautiful beach without having to worry about sand,” she said. “And there’s a lot to do at the
hotel itself.

The restaurant has a wall that completely opens to the outside, and there’s a seating area up where you can see the entire bike path all the way to the Wildwood boardwalk.” Firepits kept away the chill and the dance floor was packed the whole night.

The food was chosen from a wide selection from Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille in Cape May. Tiffany, after a tasting at Harry’s, chose stuffed shrimp with crab imperial, filet tips, shrimp cocktails, mini chicken and cheese quesadillas, mini meatballs, bruschetta, a pasta bar, and an all-American station with hot dogs, mac and cheese, and sliders.“I wouldn’t change one thing about the day,” she said.

The main reception took place in a tent on the patio. Throughout the weekend guests could step out of the resort onto the Wildwood Crest beach, bike path, and nearby park if they wanted to do a little exploring. Tiffany remembers a time before Madison bought the property when it was the Oceanview Motel, the largest hotel in the Wildwoods when it was built in 1964. There was a fear among locals that whatever took its place once it closed would not honor the fun and funky spiritof the island. But Madison Resort took this as a challenge to make the iconic property even better: they incorporated a massive mid-century style “blastoff” roof and keeps the carefree spirit of Doo-Wop alive with its choices in décor, building design, and amenities.

The newly remodeled building blends luxury with retro charm. Madison Resort Wildwood Crest is both a preservation of Wildwood’s legacy and an improvement on what makes the Wildwoods such a popular destination for folks from all around the world.Wedding parties can choose from three event spaces, including a flex space accommodating over 150 guests for a sit down dinner, a poolside setting for cocktails and receptions, and the beach for a ceremony by the waves.

There is also a sundeck available for intimate moments, from proposals to small gatherings. For the reception, Madison Resort is able to provide alcohol packages from its sister property, Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille.

The resort offers lodging so guests can celebrate together all weekend long. There are two on-site restaurants, as well as a complimentary shuttle to transport guests around town.
