Erin & Chris

Montreal Beach Resort

November 1, 2024

If you’re a Cape May local like Erin, it doesn’t make sense to get married anywhere but the shore. Erin and Chris’ story began on the Cape, on a warm Memorial Day weekend in North Wildwood back in 2015. Nine and a half years later, their wedding day took place just a few steps from the beach, thanks to Montreal Beach Resort, a full-service wedding venue that makes a sandy ceremony easy.

The ceremony took place on the beach right in front of the resort, and as Erin and Chris exchanged vows, the weather seemed to play its part in making the moment perfect. “We were both so present in the moment, thanks to our officiant, David Schenk, who made sure we could pause, take it all in, and truly savor the day,” Erin recalled.
The scene was truly special.

Petals Floral Design, in Wildwood, helped the couple create a floral arch under which they would exchange vows. It stood tall against the ocean and played well off Erin’s dress. Erin’s family and friends faced the water, with dunes behind them, in chairs provided by the venue. When they were done, the Montreal Beach Resort was waiting for them just a few steps away.

The resort’s proximity to the ocean, and the fact that it is full-service, was a great convenience for Erin and Chris. Their guests enjoyed breathtaking beach views from the comfort of their accommodations and could walk straight into downtown Cape May whenever they wanted. The couple had fun taking photos around the island.

The venue’s ability to host all of the day’s events—from the ceremony on the sand to a rooftop reception under the stars—was perfect for a relaxed and joyful celebration.

Erin’s sister crafted the beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres for the bridal party.

That’s no small feat: the floral arrangements, thanks to Erin’s sister and Petals Floral Design, were among the best we’ve seen here at Weddings by the Beach.

“The fact that our family was able to come together and contribute so much, from the decorations at the bridal shower to the flowers at the wedding, really made this experience special,” Erin said. “Everything about this day was just perfect—our families, the venue, the beach, and, of course, each other.”

Starshield Entertainment, led by DJ Kevin, set the mood for the evening by weaving in Erin’s favorite artist, Taylor Swift. As the newlyweds entered the reception, the beats of “Ready for It?” and “End Game” had everyone revving to go. For their first dance, the couple swayed to “Lover.”

It’s one thing to imagine a perfect wedding, it’s another thing entirely to plan it. Erin had been thinking for years about how her wedding would go down and had the full help of her family behind her. But sometimes it takes a good wedding planner to make the pieces fit together.

Erin said, “The planning process was intense, but Anna and Lindsay from Montreal Beach Resort were there every step of the way, guiding us through and making sure everything fell into place.”

With on-site accommodations, a heated pool, direct beach access, and a shuttle service to explore Cape May, Montreal Beach Resort made this day easy for everyone involved, creating memories that Erin and Chris will cherish forever. As the night wrapped up, the couple danced the night away, with their favorite Taylor Swift songs playing in the background, surrounded by the people they loved most.
