High school sweethearts Michaela and Tyler were married in the church where they grew up together, First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House. They were born and raised in Cape May County and could not imagine having their wedding anywhere else.
Tyler and Michaela began dating during her freshman year of high school. Most people think young love can’t last, but they knew their story would. Their romance continued through college and adulthood. Michaela said God had his plan made for them and through God’s love their relationship flourished.
In fall 2017, Michaela began her master’s degree, while Tyler worked for his father’s business. They went on a short weekend getaway to a cabin in Pennsylvania, with Tyler’s parents, sisters and friends. Michaela was excited to go to Rickett’s Glen State Park to take a hike down and back up a mountain, while viewing gorgeous waterfalls. At the end of the hike, they came up to a 94-foot waterfall. Tyler’s sister Emily had been taking pictures all day, so Michaela didn’t know what was about to happen. Emily told Michaela to glance away and when she looked back, Tyler was down on one knee with a stunning, solitaire diamond ring.
Tyler and Michaela did not want to wait more than a year to get married. Since Michaela is a teacher, so they decided August would be the best month to get married. She always dreamed of a summer wedding, because it’s her favorite season. After 10 months of planning, the vision Michaela and Tyler had created came into full fruition. It was truly, the best day ever when Michaela got to walk down the aisle and marry her best friend.
The Sunset Lounge at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal was absolutely stunning for the rehearsal dinner. Guests enjoyed amazing food and a beautiful sunset overlooking the bay! The reception was held at the Avalon Links Restaurant at The Avalon Golf Club, the best choice Michaela and Tyler made (besides each other).
