With rows and rows of glorious grapevines, one of Willow Creek Winery’s topselling points is really just how exceptionally beautiful it is. Settled on 50 acres, the vineyardand accompanying winery has become a popular locale for weddings each year, particularly at harvest time, when fall’s warm colors and New Jersey’s wine-quality grapes are fully in
bloom.
Couples who enjoy wine, obviously, appreciate Willow Creek’s award-winning agricultural products, which are naturally heavily featured at their event. But it’s the playful “Alice in
Wonderland” theme scattered throughout the property that often serves as a source of inspiration for planning and décor.
“When you drive through the grounds, you see large painted playing cards in the gardens, a checkerboard, portraits of the characters (in the book), and more,” said Hamilton Wilde,
operations manager of Willow Creek Winery. “A lot of our couples note that it adds a whimsical touch to their celebrations, and some incorporate this theme into their events.”
Wilde adds that one of the primary reasons that couples choose Willow Creek is because they’ve already experienced the enormous, rustic winery with its vaulted ceilings and
dazzling, classic chandeliers with friends or family or from attending one of the winery’s many special events.
“Usually there is already a strong sentimental feeling that the couples already have for Willow Creek,” said Wilde.
Couples enjoy choosing from the farm-to-table menu, however, one of the best parts of
planning a wedding at Willow Creek is the wine tasting, according to Wilde, who says that couples often make a day of it by relaxing at one of the fire pits outside, or cozying up to a
crackling fire inside.
One couple loved their event at Willow Creek and its surrounding area so much, they purchased a house just down the street from the winery. That’s the extreme, of course, Wilde
says that the majority of couples who held their wedding at Willow Creek will come back year after year for their anniversary or simply to relive their special day.
